SimplyO3 Ozone Olive Oil Capsules Comparison: Regular vs. Stomach Caps vs. Intesti Caps

SimplyO3 Ozone Olive Oil Capsules Comparison: Regular vs. Stomach Caps vs. Intesti Caps

Ozone oil has demonstrated regenerative and soothing benefits, but it tastes and smells unappetizing. Ozone oil capsules make it possible to get similar benefits in the digestive system. Recently, we’ve made available the Stomach Caps and Intesti Caps, which deliver ozone oil benefits in the stomach and upper intestine, respectively. This article explains the unique benefits and specific uses for each type of ozone oil capsules.

SimplyO3 Regular Ozone Oil Capsules Vs. Stomach Caps Vs. Intesti Caps – What Are They?

Food-grade ozone oil capsules make it possible to ingest ozone oil without tasting or smelling the oil. Currently, we have three different types of ozone oil capsules, including:

  1. Regular ozone oil capsules, each providing 500 mg of 600 PV organic ozonated olive oil in a cellulose capsule.

  2. Stomach Caps, with acid-resistant capsules and bioadhesive technology that helps ingredients stick to the stomach lining. Each 4-capsule serving provides 130 mg of 600 PV ozonated olive oil along with stomach soothing ingredients, including zinc citrate, L-carnosine, vitamin A, and molybdenum.

  3. Intesti Caps, with acid-resistant capsules that open in the duodenum, targeted for the small intestine. Each 3-capsule serving provides 112.5 mg of 600 PV ozonated olive oil along with intestinal and mucosal barrier support ingredients, including vitamin B6, vitamin D, and vitamin K.

What To Keep In Mind When Buying Ozone Oil

Many commercial ozone oils out there are ozonated in uncontrolled environments, which can produce formaldehyde, nitrogen compounds, or other contaminants. Whereas, at SimplyO3, our ozone oil chemists who formulate and manufacture the oils also study the chemistry and health benefits of the oils. The oils are ozonated in proprietary controlled cold reactors, with pure oxygen-ozone gas, so you can be sure that the ozone oil is pure and safe for consumption. We also standardize the peroxide value according to the European pharmacological standards, with potency lasting 3 years without refrigeration.

Why SimplyO3 Stomach Caps?

Many people look to ozone oils to reoptimize their gut lining when their practitioner says they may have intestinal permeability. Regular ozone oil capsules open in the digestive tract, delivering ozonides that may react with stomach acid, potentially producing hydrogen peroxide or other byproducts in the gut content. This works for some people, but can create stomach discomfort for others. This is why we designed Stomach Caps specifically for the stomach lining.

By protecting the content from stomach acid and slowly releasing it, we minimize the amount of ozonides that react with stomach acid and hydrogen peroxide created in the stomach content. It also provides a small amount of oxidative stress over time, minimizing potential discomfort. The ozonides in the ozone oil can stimulate Nrf2 signaling pathways in the stomach lining, which then activates various antioxidant, regenerative, and rebalancing pathways. The small amount of oxidative stress may also activate local immune cells.

Zinc, L-carnosine, molybdenum, and vitamin A provide cofactors to antioxidant enzymes. They also soothe and support the stomach lining’s natural repair in parallel with the ozone oil’s oxidative and regenerative effects.

Stomach Caps Ingredients

L-Carnosine (40 mg)

L-carnosine is a dipeptide composed of beta-alanine and histidine. Naturally, your stomach tissues have a lot of zinc and carnosine compared to other tissues. Preclinical studies suggest that it supports mucosal healing and modulates immune response.

Its buffering capacity and ability to chelate reactive carbonyl compounds suggest a protective role under conditions of oxidative or acid-induced stress [1].

Zinc (20 mg as Zinc Citrate)

Zinc is an essential trace element, and contributes to epithelial integrity and immune surveillance. It’s a key cofactors for the readouts of genes that encode tight junction proteins and regeneration of the stomach mucosal barrier [2]. Many people with occasional stomach issues are also deficient in zinc.

Zinc has a synergistic effect with L-carnosine to protect the stomach lining [1].

Vitamin A (1500 mcg RAE as Retinyl Acetate)

Vitamin A is a key vitamin for many gene readouts that help maintain the gut lining and help it self-repair from day-to-day exposures [3].

Molybdenum (200 mcg as Sodium Molybdate Dihydrate)

Molybdenum is less frequently discussed in gastrointestinal health, but serves as a cofactor for enzymes involved in sulfur metabolism and aldehyde detoxification [4].

Its presence may support the breakdown of metabolic byproducts and oxidative intermediates in the stomach [4].

SimplyO3 Stomach Caps help with stomach homeostasis by slowly delivering ozonides on the mucosal lining along with micronutrients that support mucosal resilience.

How to take: Start with one capsule in the morning and one at night. If no irritation occurs, increase the dose to two capsules in the morning and two at night, 20 minutes before eating.

If you’re consuming other foods or supplements high in vitamin A (retinol), consider cycling off the StomachCaps every third month. During this month, use Organic Ozone Oil Capsules as needed.

Why Intesti Caps

Many people use ozone oil to optimize the intestinal barrier or terrain, but may struggle with the discomfort from taking regular ozone oil. Also, some ozonides react with stomach acid, creating hydrogen peroxides and other byproducts, and leaving little for the intestines. Therefore, we formulated Intesti Caps with acid-protective capsules that deliver in the small intestine where it may modulate the local flora and stimulate Nrf2-mediated processes.

Accompanying the ozonated oil is a triad of essential vitamins: Vitamin B6, Vitamin D3, and Vitamin K2 (as menaquinone-7), each of which has a targeted physiological role in the intestinal mucosal barrier.

Intesti Caps Ingredients

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine Hydrochloride)

Vitamin B6 is involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters such as serotonin and GABA, which influence the gut-brain axis [5].

It also plays a role in modulating immune responses, which are particularly relevant in the context of intestinal homeostasis.

Deficiencies in B6 have been associated with shifts in microbial composition and decreased mucosal immunity [6]. Many people with suboptimal intestinal health are deficient in vitamin B6 [7].

Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol)

Vitamin D modulates immune balance and function.

In the gastrointestinal tract, Vitamin D helps maintain tight junctions between epithelial cells. Low levels of vitamin D correlates with increased intestinal permeability and imbalanced gut flora [8].

Vitamin K2 (Menaquinone-7)

Although K2 is more commonly recognized for its role in calcium metabolism, it may also contribute to mucosal tissue health through its immune-modulating and vascular-stabilizing properties.

Research suggests that it works with vitamin D3 to help maintain the gut lining and immune balance [9].

SimplyO3 Intesti Caps are not a treatment for any specific condition, but rather a tool to support a balanced and resilient intestinal terrain and mucosal lining health.

How to take: Take one capsule three times a day before meals.

Ozone Oil Capsule FAQs

Original Caps — do these benefit only the stomach, or also the gut (aka small intestine)?

Our original Organic Ozone Oil Capsules provide the highest dose of ozone oil at 500 mg per capsule. The original gelatin capsules are designed to open in the stomach, releasing ozonides and peroxides into the lumen of the stomach, mixing with the stomach content. This helps provide antimicrobial action mainly in the lumen of the stomach. When the ozonides encounter stomach acid, they can quickly break down into aldehydes, ketones, or carboxylic acids. When peroxides mix with stomach acid, it releases a small amount of water, chlorine gas, and oxygen gas.

Some ozonides and byproducts may travel with digestive secretions and reach the small intestine.

Are Stomach Caps geared toward the stomach lining? And are they for sensitive stomachs?

Stomach Caps are formulated with stomach-soothing ingredients in a matrix that helps the ingredients adhere to the stomach lining. In addition, the proprietary capsules protect the ozonides and other ingredients from stomach acid, allowing the ingredients to deliver their benefits to the stomach lining. This combination may be especially beneficial for those with sensitive stomachs. Ozonated olive oil helps provide antimicrobial and antioxidant action, while L-carnosine, zinc, vitamin A, and molybdenum act as cofactors for stomach lining repair processes.

Are Intesti Caps geared toward the intestinal lining? What about those with digestive upset?

Intesti Caps are formulated specifically to act in the small intestine, with a proprietary plant-based starch matrix that helps protect the ingredients from stomach acid. The capsule releases in the small intestine, exposing the content to the gut lining and lumen there. Intesti Caps also provide vitamins D3, K2, and B6 to help soothe and reinforce the intestinal lining and support barrier integrity.

Recommendations for when to take it: with or without food, separate from supplements and medications?

Ideally, take these capsules at least 2 hours before or after supplements or medications.

  • Original Organic Ozone Oil capsules: 2 capsules per day, by mouth, either with or without food.

  • Stomach Caps: For the first 5-7 days, take 1 capsule twice per day, at least 20 minutes before the first meal and 20 minutes before the last meal. If no irritation occurs, increase the dose to two capsules 20 minutes prior to the first and last meals. After 6-8 weeks of full dosing and noticeable improvements, consider reducing the dose to two capsules once per day as maintenance.

  • Intesti Caps: One capsule three times per day, 20 minutes before meals.

Why are dextrose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, dicalcium phosphate, and natural flavors included in our product?

These ingredients are not active components of the product, but are added in tiny amounts (milligrams) to ensure uniform product quality, safety, and effectiveness.

  • Dextrose monohydrate: Added to stabilize moisture content, helps bind ingredients together, and helps the ingredient disperses once the capsules open. As a nutrient, dextrose is typically absorbed in the upper small intestine.

  • Magnesium stearate: Prevents the active ingredients from sticking to machinery during production processes, helping capsules fill evenly, and ensuring the product's potency.

  • Dicalcium phosphate: Holds capsule contents together and helps fill capsules uniformly.

  • Natural flavors: EU-compliant food-grade ingredients added to improve the product flavor.

In milligram doses, these ingredients are generally well-tolerated, even in sensitive people. In cases of strong allergies or severe sensitivities to these specific ingredients, it’s best to consult a qualified practitioner for the appropriate alternatives.

Is it recommended to take two different types, or only one type at a time? Can you “overdose”?

Our product line is designed to target different areas of digestive support: Stomach Caps focus on protecting the gastric lining and soothing sensitive stomachs, while Intesti Caps are formulated to deliver their benefits further along, in the small intestine.

In the clinical literature, consuming up to about 1000 mg of 500 peroxide value ozonated oil is very safe and well-tolerated. Our specialized capsules contain about 100 mg of ozone oil each, in slow-release acid-protection capsules. While it’s possible to overdose on ozone oil, you would likely need to consume more than 10 of these capsules to overdose on ozone oil alone.

However, keep in mind that our Stomach Caps and Intesti Caps also contain nutrients such as vitamins A and D3. It is possible to overdose on these, especially vitamin A.

To combine or take higher doses of these capsules, it’s best to work with a qualified health care provider to monitor for excessive doses of vitamins, along with other potential issues that may arise.

Ozonated olive oil is generally safe in the amounts used in our products, but excessive dosages can cause mild and temporary stomach upset symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, bloating, burping, and diarrhea.

Does ozone oil negatively impact the gut microbiome?

There is no evidence to suggest that ozone capsules have negative impacts on the gut microbiome. Oral ozone oil act locally in the upper gut. Whereas, most of your gut flora are located lower in your colon. This means that much of its oxidative activity is neutralized prior to reaching the colon. There are a handful of studies and clinical anecdotes on ozone therapy administered rectally that suggest it may enhance the gut microbiome. However, to date, there has been no clinical study that elucidates the effects of oral ozone oil on the microbiome.

How long should I take these ozone oil capsules?

The duration of use depends on the specific product and whether you are using it for short-term relief or long-term benefits.

  • Stomach Caps: Typically used short- to medium-term, for 4-12 weeks until symptoms improve. Use beyond 3-4 months should be monitored since the product contains vitamin A. The product can also be switched with the original capsules to prevent vitamin A overdose.

  • Intesti Caps: typically used medium to long-term, 2-6 months, particularly for tricky symptoms. Safe as a maintenance dose, as added vitamins are often beneficial when taken regularly.

  • Original ozone oil capsules: Generally used acutely, for 4-8 weeks during specific times of imbalance or detox protocols.
